Touchstone Communities has acquired 75 acres of the former Konyn Dairy in Valley Center to build a mixed-use residential community to be known as Park Circle.
The property, located at the northwest corner of Valley Center Road and Mirar de Valle, was purchased by the San Diego-based development company from the Konyn family for $6 million.
“The property was a long-time family owned asset that was ripe for re-positioning since the dairy industry has faced regulatory headwinds in San Diego County for several years,” said Terry Jackson of Cushman & Wakefield, which represented both parties in the transaction and made the announcement Thursday.
Park Circle will be a master-planned community in the heart of Valley Center with homes, restaurants, shops, and a large central park. Traditionally styled single-family and cluster homes are planned.
“In realizing their dairy operation would not continue, the Konyns hoped that their beloved Valley Center property would be developed and woven into the Valley Center community fabric that they have been so closely aligned with for decades, a shared goal that Touchstone Communities also intends to fulfill,” said Matt Davis of Cushman & Wakefield.
